Unified Communications

The employees can communicate within the context of the Intranet Portal in the real time by using the built-in messenger or any external ICQ-like messenger.

As an external messaging tool, you are recommended to use Miranda which is available for free. However, you can use any other messaging software. For example, your employees can use mobile messengers for better availability and connectivity - all they need is a mobile Internet connection.

Regardless of the way the contacts communicate, the message history is always stored at the Portal.

The configuration settings below are for Miranda. For other messengers, find similar fields in the application settings of your software.

  • Run Miranda, select Options > Network > Jabber in the application menu.
  • In the Username and Password fields, type the login and password you use to access the Portal.
  • Specify the domain of your server in the Login server field.
  • Enter the XMPP server port number in the Port field (if it is different from the default value).
  • Check the SSL box if you use secure connection.
  • Save changes.
